Hello! My name is Lynda Barraza and I am so very excited and grateful to be a part of this amazing school and to get to know all of you! I grew up in Colorado Springs, CO before becoming a Buffalo at the University of Colorado – Boulder (Go Buffs!), where I received my bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a minor in French. All throughout college, I was a nanny for two kiddos in Boulder and I knew that being with kids and helping them learn was my true passion. After graduating from college, I decided to follow that passion and found a job at a local preschool here in Denver. They took a chance on me without having any Early Childhood Education classes, and I started as an assistant teacher in the infant room. From there I took classes to become a lead qualified teacher and got my own classroom with toddlers. After becoming a leader of multiple toddler classrooms, I’ve continued my education to become director qualified! I am currently in a graduate program at University of Colorado – Denver to obtain my master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education.
On a more personal note, I got married in October 2015 in Palmer Lake, Colorado to my college sweetheart! My husband and I now live in Littleton with our dog and two cats! We enjoy traveling and going on adventures with our dog, Sacky!
Ms. Amy started working for LSP-Littleton when we first opened in May 2016. She started as our lead pre-kindergarten teacher and quickly moved up to be one of our head teachers. In June 2018, she was promoted to Assistant Director, joining our awesome leadership team! She has her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Northern Colorado and has been working in ECE for over 5 years. She has experience working as a student teacher in local school districts and also in preschools.
Ms. Amy has a son who attends LSP and loves being able to watch him grown and learn where she works!
She loves working in early childhood because “every day is something new and exciting.” She “loves seeing children grow and experience those ‘ah, ha!’ moments.”
