“Hello, my name is Stacy. I am the Program Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Springfield at Chestnut and Area Manager of our Southwest Missouri and Northwest Arkansas schools. I will be celebrating five years with LSP this coming year.
I have a graduate degree in Elementary Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. I started my career teaching second grade at a Title I school and then transitioned into a fourth-grade classroom at a private school. I taught for five wonderful years prior to moving to Springfield. Upon moving to Springfield, I taught a summer school-aged classroom ranging from children aged five to twelve.
Education and psychology are both passions of mine and I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to apply that experience and knowledge to the LSP community; all while learning from the teachers, children and leadership team on a daily basis. My teaching philosophy includes the importance of teaching to the “whole child” and building on the individual strengths that children bring to the classroom. I love meeting and building relationships with the parents and families of LSP.
On a more personal note, I moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Springfield about eight years ago and married in 2013. My husband and I have a two and a half-year-old; Zoe, who is the light of our life. She also attends Little Sunshine’s. We are so fortunate that Zoe is surrounded by such caring, loving and passionate teachers’ day in and day out. We also enjoy spending time with family and friends. We are a divided football household, as I am a Raiders fan and my husband a Chiefs fan. However, we both love Cardinals baseball. Go Redbirds!”
“Hello, and welcome to Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool.
My name is Chelsea, and I am thrilled to be the Program Director at our Claremont location. I have worked in the childcare industry since December 2010, and I have been a part of Little Sunshine’s family since September 2015. I began my journey as the infant teacher, and about 9 months later I was promoted to the head teacher. Shortly after, I was given the opportunity to take on the role of assistant director at the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Springfield at Cardinal. I was the assistant director for about 3 years before being promoted to the Program Director. I absolutely love my position, and I love being able to establish lifelong relationships with all of our students and families. My passion is helping children learn and grow. Our goal is to help prepare your child for life and set them up for success.
I look forward to meeting you and providing your child with our exceptional care.
Aside from Little Sunshine’s, my husband and I have been married since October 2016. We have two children, a daughter and a son. In our spare time, we love to spend time with family, be outdoors, and watch movies.”
Hello and welcome to Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool, Springfield II!
I started my career in child care at 18 years old working through an early child care program at my high school. From there I have worked in quite a few facilities. I began my adventure with Little Sunshine’s in September of 2015 at our Cardinal location as the Early Preschool Teacher. There I got a reputation for fun art and science projects, where the kids got to get their little hands messy! I love watching kiddos explore the world with their senses and the light in their eyes as they learn something new!! I was offered the opportunity to become the Assistant Director of this location in April 2016. I look forward to meeting your family and helping your child learn and grow!
On a personal note: I love playing with my three children and my husband. I am very involved with the youth at my church. I teach the teen Sunday school class and work with the elementary age kids on Thursday nights. I also sing with my 13-year-old daughter on our praise team.
“We absolutely love LSP Claremont! Both of our kids have gone there since they were three months old (now 4.5 years and 15 months). The genuine care and concern for our kids is the peace of mind parents need. They’ve worked with us when we’ve had special circumstances without any hesitation. The daily LuvNotes are awesome! Getting to read about their day and see a picture of them in their element is wonderful.” – The Hartman Family
“As a new parent, I wanted the best daycare I could find for my son. I toured several daycares in the Springfield area and none of them met my expectations until I went to Little Sunshine’s Playhouse on Claremont. After meeting the director, Ms. Kelley and her wonderful staff, I knew this was the perfect place for my son. Little Sunshine’s provides a wonderful family atmosphere and is clean and makes you feel right at home. The director and her staff know every kids name and always greets my son and I with a cheerful smile and makes it very clear they work for you and want to meet your child’s needs, which they all excel in. A+ to each and every one of them!!! My husband and I love reading daily about the things our son is learning and being introduced to at only 6 months old. We truly appreciate that the teachers are actually teaching and not just watching our son. I love the feeling, knowing my son is safe and in such great hands at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse. I also love the family activities they offer after hours as well. This place goes above and beyond!!!! I would recommend Little Sunshine’s Playhouse on Claremont to anyone looking for a daycare, you will not be disappointed.” – The Crockett Family
“LSP is such a blessing for our family! All of the staff are friendly and trustworthy. They go above and beyond to accommodate my little one’s needs and they are great at communicating with us. I am able to utilize the cameras during the day to check on him, and I love the LuvNotes that the teachers send home so I can see what all he did that day! It helps so much to feel comfortable leaving him, when I wish I could be with him all day.” – The Wooldridge Family
“I have had my three daughters going here since before their first birthdays. I feel like they have grown into part of our family. I love getting the luvnotes (or grade card as we call it) everyday. Kelly is an amazing leader of a great group of employees. I recommend LSP to everyone.” – The Parmele Family
