“Hello, my name is Stacy. I am the Director of the LSP Chestnut location. I recently celebrated 4 years with LSP!
I have a graduate degree in Elementary Education specializing in Curriculum and Instruction as well as a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology and an Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration. I started my career teaching second grade at a Title I school and then transitioned into a fourth-grade classroom at a private school. I taught for five wonderful years prior to moving to Springfield. Upon moving to Springfield I taught a summer school aged classroom ranging from children aged five to twelve.
Education and psychology are both passions of mine and I am extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to apply that experience and knowledge to the LSP community; all while learning from the teachers, children and leadership team on a daily basis. My teaching philosophy includes the importance of teaching to the “whole child” and building on the individual strengths that children bring to the classroom. I love meeting and building relationships with the parents and families of LSP.
On a more personal note, I moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Springfield about seven years ago and married in 2013. My husband and I have a two-year-old; Zoe, who is the light of our life. She also attends Little Sunshine’s. We are so fortunate that Zoe is surrounded by such caring, loving and passionate teachers’ day in and day out. We also enjoy spending time with family and friends. We are a divided football household, as I am a Raiders fan and my husband a Chiefs fan. However, we both love Cardinals baseball. Go Redbirds!”
“Hi! My name is Stephanie, I am the Assistant Director for the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse & Preschool of Springfield on Chestnut Expressway.
I have been with Little Sunshine’s Playhouse since August of 2012. I started as a floater teacher while I completed my college degree and have been a Lead Teacher for several age groups including the infant, toddler, and two-year-old classrooms. My favorite part of being a teacher was being able to see the “ah-ha” moments on the children’s faces when I was able to teach them something. It is so fulfilling to see their faces light up when they are able to grasp new information and apply it to what they are playing and interacting.
I graduated from Missouri State University in 2017 with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Child & Family Development with an emphasis in Family Studies and am currently working toward obtaining my Master’s degree in Business Administration from Maryville University. Coming into the Assistant Director position, I am excited to get to know each one of you better. I am excited to see your children learn and thrive at our school!
On weekends I love to spend time with my family. We are big into movies and spend a lot of time getting to know our favorite Marvel characters better. We also enjoy road trips and spending time outdoors when the weather is nice. Grilling is our favorite pastime!
I truly look forward to meeting you. Welcome to our LSP family! We are so glad to have you!”
“We have had our 10-month-old baby boy enrolled at Little Sunshines Playhouse for the past month and a half. We absolutely love this place!!! The teachers treat our little guy like he is one of their own kids! Our baby boy loves coming here! The staff has been friendly, attentive and very caring. The teacher-to-parent communication is great! The teachers are always very informative about how his day went. They also keep us updated on mental and physical milestones that they are watching for in our child’s progress, and also of all the milestones they have already seen him achieve. The security is great here. The front door is locked and requires a security pass code for entry. I HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!” – The Cook Family
