Grow a Candy Cane At Home

The magic of the holiday season is upon us and we have a creative and fun way to experience that with your child right at home! This is a great activity for showing patience, creating a countdown to an event and being able watch your little one’s eyes light up every day as their candy cane grows full size!

Supplies Needed:

  • Planter
  • Peppermints
  • Dirt
  • Candy canes
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint Brush
  • Miscellaneous art supplies for decorating planter

Directions:

First allow your child to paint and decorate their planter with all the imagination and creativity they can! After allowing the planter to dry overnight, you’ll then help them to fill it up with the fake dirt and plant their peppermint. As your kiddo is watering their “plant” daily, you’ll want to use a few different sizes of candy canes to show growth at night. You can extend this out however long best suits your family!
