The Dahler’s are the founders and franchisors of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse, and the owners of this individual school location. It is the pursuit of “something much better” in early childhood education for their own children that guides and shapes each of the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse schools. Matt and Rochette are dedicated and proud parents of Gillian, Riley and Paxon. Each of their children has thrived with the social and educational components that Little Sunshine’s Playhouse has provided for them from birth to Kindergarten. The entire family cherishes those early years, preschool memories and first friendships.

“Hello! My name is Marci Neves, and I am so excited to be the Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse in Granite Bay. I have worked in childcare for over 20 years, 15 of which were as a full time Nanny for several amazing families. The relationships that I built with each of those families will be life long and they have each shaped me into the caregiver that I am. I entered the preschool world as a Teacher’s Aide in an Early Preschool classroom, then as I gained my Early Childhood Education Units I became Lead Teacher.
One day as I drove down the street where our Little Sunshine’s Playhouse was being built, I decided to look into what this beautiful building was. One look at the website I knew that it is where I needed to be. I had the pleasure of being a part of opening this school and went from Lead Toddler Teacher to Head Teacher and now Director!!!
On a personal note, I have a beautiful little boy and we love trips to the coast, camping, spending time with family and friends and just hanging out together.
I am so excited to be a part of this journey with all of those that have put their hearts and souls into LSP. I love to see the smiles on the faces of all the kiddos as they walk through the doors and run into their classrooms. I look forward to watching each child grow and learn in the years to come.”
“Hello! I graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Development. While in college, I worked as a Teacher Assistant and Pre-K Teacher at the Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool in Springfield, Missouri. When the opportunity presented itself to relocate to Granite Bay and assist in opening the first LSP in this beautiful community, I knew I couldn’t pass it up. I’m thrilled to be serving as the Assistant Director here!
I love doing anything outdoors! I am very close with my family and enjoy hanging out with friends and sorority sisters. When I have the time, I love to travel and explore new places. I also enjoy shopping for home décor, swimming and I’m in the process of learning how to cook (it might be a long process)!
Working with kiddos has always been a big passion of mine. I love seeing the kiddos faces light up when they learn or discover something new. I also enjoy being able to be a presence in the children’s life while helping shape their love for learning.”
“Hi! My name is Jennifer Ballard and I’ve been with Little Sunshine’s Playhouse Granite Bay since opening day in November 2017! I started as the Head Teacher of the Infant and Toddler Program, then had the opportunity to move up as the Co-Assistant Director. I love everything about our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum and I have always loved working in the preschool field.
I’m originally from St. Louis, Missouri where I graduated from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2009. I have been working in the early childhood field for 10 years now. I have a strong, passionate belief in the importance of early childhood education and I am so excited to begin this journey with my leadership team!
In my spare time, I like to spend time venturing around my Sacramento neighborhood with my fiancé, Justin, visiting nearby beaches and going to concerts.
I look forward to meeting you and your family!”
