Little Sunshine’s Playhouse
& Preschool® of Springfield opened in 2009 and is one of four in the Springfield area. The school is located in the southwest part of Springfield across the street from FD’s Grillhouse.
Our all-inclusive, private preschool program provides educational child care to children ages 6 weeks through pre-kindergarten in Springfield, Nixa, and Republic communities.
In order to cater to your family’s unique child care needs, we offer a variety of schedule options, which are M-F, MWF and Tues./Thurs. Our monthly tuition rates include: formula, wipes, baby food, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.

Our Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum, Creatively Shine®, is based on the latest research and trends to prepare your children for their educational careers equipping them with cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language skills.
At Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool® we believe that a child’s work is play. We teach children age-appropriate lessons, manners, and social skills all through creative and purposeful play. We believe that if children enjoy learning at a young age it will carry with them throughout their lives.
Each month we have original projects, provide each classroom with new materials that reflect the monthly theme and provide related activities to support the individual concepts of the “whole child.”

Hello, my name is Shelly, and I am so happy to be your Program Director at Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Springfield at Cardinal. I am thrilled to provide our children with the best educational child care. Building strong, positive relationships with our students, their families, and our staff is my top priority as the program director. I am delighted to spend my days supporting our teachers, as they help our students develop their self-esteem and the skills needed to be successful in school and later in life.
A little about myself, I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 28 years, and we have a son who is 22. I am very passionate about early childhood education and have been in the field with Little Sunshine’s Playhouse for over 18 years, starting as an assistant teacher, and eventually working my way up to program director. I currently hold my Master’s in Early Childhood and Family Studies.

Hello, my name is Anna, and I am so excited to serve you as Assistant Director of Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool of Springfield at Cardinal. I am so happy to be part of your children’s and family’s lives.
I found my passion for early childhood education starting in 2013. Since then, I’ve worked as a lead teacher for several years. After gaining nine years of wonderful experience as an early educator. I continuously strive to provide the very best learning experience while still creating lots of fun memories in our program – after all, children learn best through play!
A little about myself, I have a wonderful husband that I have been married to for a little over three years, and have a one-year-old daughter who keeps us very busy and keeps life so fun. During my free time, I love to spend time at the lake with my family, taking trips with my family and watching my daughter experience new things! My husband and I love to go camping and be outside. Hiking in the mountains or swimming in the ocean is what I find the most relaxing.
I look forward to helping create fun and happiness in your child’s life.

Infant Program (6 weeks – 1 year)
Our highly trained infant teachers partner with you to ensure your baby’s developmental needs are met every step along the way. Our nursery staff create predictable routines and nurturing classroom environments that foster social and emotional development in your baby.
Our toddler classrooms are designed to encourage purposeful play where our teachers guide your child through age-appropriate learning experiences that prepare them with the knowledge they need to be confident as they grow.
Early Preschool Program (2-3 years)
Your child’s preschool teacher and our classroom create a nurturing, home-like classroom environment where your toddler is treated as a capable individual, whose opinions, actions and thoughts are respected and valued.
