PRE-KINDERGARTEN
A child comes into their own this year before we send them off to kindergarten. They can easily recognize colors, shapes, letter, and numbers. They can even reproduce these pre-emergent skills for their teacher. During this year the pre-K student will develop a love for reading and literature. They will be able to retell stories, and in the process learn sequencing. At this age acting out stories is not only fun, but reinforces priceless concepts that the four year old needs to learn, including problem solving techniques. Simple analogies (sky/blue, grass/green) are taught to expand their thinking skills. Self awareness, social graces, and building relationships with one another are well on their way to being mastered. They are confident and we are proud of all that they have learned and the person they have become. It is very hard to say good-bye as they leave for kindergarten, but we know they are well prepared to begin the next phase in their lives.
