TWOS

Two year olds continue to explore the world around them. At this age they are more mobile and really like to discover new things in their environment. Our interactive toys stimulate them along with songs, puzzles, games, and interaction with their classmates promote socialization skills. Our LSP curriculum offers each child experiences in math, science, language, drama and music. It is presented in a way to help develop each child's imagination. All two year olds are curious, and they love learning through play. Language development is very easy for this age so we also take this opportunity to increase their vocabulary and introduce a second language. Routine and structure are extremely important for this age so we make sure to incorporate it into each child's day. Two year olds love working on their fine and gross motor skills, and LSP teachers enjoy giving them opportunities to experiment in both areas. They will learn to sing the alphabet song, identify animals, and begin learning rote counting. Social development is probably the hardest concept for the two year old to master. At this age we feel it is time to introduce self-control. It is a time to learn how to share which is not easy for a two year old. The two year old teacher is a patient person who understands repetition and consistency is key for this age.
