CURRICULUM

 

Our master planned curriculum Creatively ShineTM is based off the newest research and trends to prepare young children to enter their educational career, equipped with the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social skills.   At Little Sunshine's Playhouse we believe that a child's work is PLAY! We teach children lessons, manners, and social skills all through creative and preplanned PLAY. We know that if children enjoy learning at a young age it will carry with them throughout their lives! 

 

Our curriculum involves much more than just the planned daily projects and activities set forth for each child.  Creatively ShineTM guides our teachers through each day, enriching the classroom environment, building each child's self-esteem, facilitating smooth transitions between activities, creating a literacy-rich and multi-cultural environment where each child will be comfortable to explore.  Parent participation is very strongly encouraged in our program.  The calendar of events and monthly planning will foster parent/teacher relationships through communication, conferences, events and programs.

 

Planned Play Experiences & Learning Activities are also posted along with a daily schedule so that the parents can see what the children are doing each day; and even log on to the Kiddie Cams and watch an activity at its planned time!

Great care is taken when designing and setting up each classroom. Each preschool room is set up into learning centers which include: science, math, manipulative, housekeeping, kitchen, gross motor, quiet (reading), writing areas, etc.  Classrooms are soothing, decorated with soft colors and natural woods, as not to be over-stimulating or distracting.
