And now, our August 2017 Company-Wide Teacher of the Month is Mrs. Bilan Thompson. Mrs. Bilan is a Toddler teacher from Lakeway, Texas.

Program Assistant Director, Jessica Watson, had the following to say about Bilan, “Mrs. Bilan is such a loyal and hardworking teacher that we are lucky to have as part of our team. She is so caring and nurturing to all of our toddlers and does a wonderful job making the parents feel at ease while creating meaningful relationships with them. Along with great work ethic, Mrs. Bilan creates a positive work environment for everyone she works with. She respects all of the staff and treats everyone with kindness. Thank you for all you have done for our toddlers and LSP! Congratulations Mrs. Bilan!”

Bilan started in the child care industry when she saw a job posting to teach dance and theater to young children in an after-school learning program. “After starting this position, I discovered how much I love teaching children.”

Bilan enjoys working for Little Sunshine’s Playhouse and Preschool. “I love that LSP appreciates their staff. I also love that our school has a family atmosphere.”

Bilan teaches in the Toddler 1 classroom at Lakeway. “I love teaching the one year olds because they are so cute and really comical. Every day they bring a smile to my face.” Her favorite curriculum project was a jello and planet sensory table. “Our kids enjoyed it so much. For this age group I have discovered that the messier they get the more they seem to love it.”

Outside of work, Bilan enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies and going for walks. One thing you may not know about Bilan is that she has always had a dream to be a children’s author.

Congratulations Bilan!
